We will update you regularly so you can stay in control with no unexpected surprises.<\/p>\n<p>Sending a letter of claim in a straightforward debt claim, the typical cost would be \u00a3165 &#8211; \u00a3280 plus VAT, which is presently 20% (i.e. 1 hour\u2019s work and depending upon the seniority of the solicitor carrying out the work). If the case is settled, it may take a few weeks. If a claim is issued it may take up to 3 months to obtain judgment in default. These prices are an estimate of the likely cost of the case which we can reasonably foresee at the start. Estimates we give can be affected by other factors outside our control (eg. your instructions, the conduct of an opponent or third party, unexpected circumstances, court or tribunal orders etc).
